Position:  Part-Time Office Administrator

Be part of a workplace environment that is collegial and team oriented, open and honest, and effective at completing work on-time and on-budget.  Starfire Engineering, Inc. is seeking a part-time Office Administrator to provide ongoing staff support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Purchase Orders
  • Bank Reconciliation & Banking Activity
  • Budgets & Forecasts
  • Payroll
  • Primary point of contact with Starfire’s CPA firm

Human Resources

  • Time & Attendance Tracking
  • Annual Holiday Scheduling
  • Insurance Benefit Administration
  • Primary liaison with Insurance Benefit Brokers
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan Administration
  • New Hire Processing
  • Termination Processing
  • Workplace Training Administration

General & Administrative

  • Project Support as Needed
  • Bids & Proposals Assistance
  • Contract Review
  • Business Owners & Professional Insurance Policies
  • Office Supply Inventory
  • Primary liaison with IT company
  • Website support
  • Phone System Maintenance
  • Office Equipment Maintenance
  • Scheduling
  • Travel Arrangements
  • Incoming & Outgoing Mail
  • General Office Cleaning

Education, Skills, & Experience Required:

  • 4-year degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources, or Office Administration
  • At least 3 years’ experience as an office administrator handling basic accounting and human resources functions
  • Skilled with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Products
  • Self-starter who can anticipate the needs of the team

Skills & Experience Preferred:

  • Previous experience as an office administrator for an engineering firm
  • Job Costing using QuickBooks software
  • TSheets & Integration with QuickBooks
  • Paychex Flex or similar Payroll Service Provider/Professional Employer Organization
